Making large vessels using the Korean Onggi technique.

Finished the 1st vessel using the Onggi coil, paddle, and throw method.

1st coil on the base.
Coils added before paddling and smoothing. Will repeat this process until the desired height and width is reached.
Few more coils to add before finishing.
Finished size is 16″ wide at the top, 9″ wide at the base and 14″ tall.

Applied white slip decoration to all Death Valley clay pieces. Now will wait for all pottery to dry before doing a bisque firing.

Customers from Hilo came by to pick up some pottery.

Started a series of large coil and throw vessels using the Korean Onggi technique.

Finished trimming rice bowls and attached handles to mugs.

25 lbs. Turquoise Matt glaze and 25 lbs. Chun White glaze came in via USPS large flat rate boxes today from Laguna Clay.

Rained all day – pottery drying slowly. Trimmed the mugs and started on the rice bowls.

Picked up 125 lbs. of Bmix clay from High Fire Hawaii.
